A very friendly and enjoyable mixed doubles tournament was held last Saturday afternoon, with the rain holding off until we had finished.

A small, relaxed group of 8 players competed in an initial round robin stage, in which everybody played with everybody else, followed by two semi finals and a final.

Congratulations to the winners Judy Shillitoe and John Dalton who won the day beating Sue James and Hugh Kellett 6-3.

Drinks and prize giving were held in the hotel bar afterwards and Martin Barlow presented the prizes, including the very generous gift of Sunday lunch vouchers to the winners.  The next tournament will take place in the autumn, and all are welcome. Once again it will be fun and friendly.
